Scott Kelby's Photo Walk Recap

Yesterday morning, 32,000 photographers took to the streets in 900 cities around the world creating one of the largest organized photo walks ever. Scott Kelby's World Photo Walk designed to help promote his new book grew to a size large enough to be considered by the Guinness Book of World Records. Unfortunately it failed to register as they require a witness to make anything official. A fairly tough task.

This was an event I really wanted to participate in again and to make sure that happened, I offered to organize a local walk in Charlottetown. To my surprise, more then the max of 50 walkers registered and even more showed up the morning of the walk. Bright and early at 5:30am.

Thanks to all that attended and I look forward to another similar event in the future. It was a very independent walk and it felt like the group was spread out over a dozen blocks. Here area a few of the Charlottetown walkers in action.

It turns out that I don't concentrate in groups and I ended up spending most of the day talking. Some walkers disappeared right after the word go and I never seen them again but I was still able to meet a number of participants. The amount of gear talk was beyond a healthy level but it's always fun and interesting.

and as a result, after 3 hours, I had taken less then a dozen frames that were not of someone else taking a photo.

During our walk, we met two volunteers dressed up in character out front of Province House. They heard about the walk and wanted to participate by dressing up in their home made costumes. A welcomed (and popular) surprise.
