Last week Bert Monroy opened an exhibit that will run for about 3 months at the Hearst Art Gallery in Moraga, California January 17 - April 5, 2009. His work that is entirely created with the tools inside of Photoshop and Illustrator are highly detailed at amazing resolutions.
Today, Scott Kelby just made a post sharing a glimpse of the setup. Scenes From The Gallery Retrospective of Bert Monroy’s Work.
If you are interested in his work, Bert Monroys podcast Pixel Perfect has recently been recording more episodes over at Revision3 after high demand and complaints when the show was canceled late last year. Many of his episodes as well as his books discuss these exhibit paintings in detail. See episode 101 for a look into his current project and the details to create a full panorama of Times Square in New York.
Bert Monroy was the person that started my addiction to Photoshop as well as the person that convinced me to switch to a Wacom Tablet 8 years ago. The photo to the left is one I took during the induction of Bert Monroy to the Photoshop Hall of Fame.
If you are in the Bay Area between now and April, it might be worth heading over to the Hearst Art Gallery - A Digital Artist Paints with Light.
