On the recent Photoshop Radio, Dave Cross asked Bert Monroy about his latest project. The numbers are pretty amazing.
- Bert has been working on it now for 6 months.
- Is expecting another 4-5 months to finish.
- It measures 20"x60" at 480dpi
- When flatten, it is currently 791meg
- Because of the size, each piece is created in a separate PSD file at a size of about 900meg - 5gig
- Each one of those individual PSD files contain about 800 layers.

I wonder what kind of machine he has that can handle files of that size with ease. My Pentium M 1.7 with 512MB has trouble once my image files start tapping 100MB, let alone 5GB.
Must have a nice monitor too.

I heard Bert speak once and he not only gets all the latest software from Adobe, but he also gets all the latest (and biggest) hardware from from Apple. He uses incredible machines and pushes them to their max.
