Now that the Firefox Web Browser has reached it's 1.0 release, news is spreading fast and popularity is increasing. It seems like yesterday when Steven Garrity wrote Branding Mozilla that tied silverorange into the Mozilla Visual Identity Team a couple months before Firebird became Firefox.
Today you can hear about Firefox just about everywhere. For starters:
- Ben Goodger in the New Zealand Herald
- Steven Garrity on CBC Radio
- Steven Garrity on CBC TV
- G4TechTV is heavily promoting it, (Must Have Apps)
- News.com: Firefox beats million-download deadline
- ZDNet: Firefox bites back
The Firefox 1.0 release had a goal of 1 million downloads in it's first 10 days but reached 2 million plus. Microsoft is slowly losing the battle for the number #1 browser now that they have some good competition.
note: if you are using IE (Internet Explorer), you probably see a grey box around the Firefox logo which is yet another reason to move to Firefox.
