PhotoshopContest.com supplies one pre-chosen image daily and in return members submit back their own altered version for everyone to view. If you have entered at least 15 photos of your own, you are granted the right to vote for your favourite on any contest.
I stumbled onto this site back in June but it was not until now that I actually participated. This week I took a minute and wiped up my own idea for the current photo that day.
Voting officially ends Saturday morning at 8am but the majority of voting is over. It seems I did manage to grab the eye of a few people and generate a few votes. Here is my first photoshop contest entry: View Before and After (800x300 116kb)
My Steps:
- added a blue cool tint to the original image
- using another image, cloned in snow to selected areas
- filter>render>clouds and clipped that to the sky area for texture
- added people and a motion blur to the riders
- dropped in a picnic table for additional props
- with a grey brush, painted snow on tree branches and other needed areas
- added a levels adjustment layer to darken everything
- added two layers of different size snow flakes using filter>noise>add noise
After doing the first one, I had to try a couple more using some photos that stood out in their archives (both of which were past photos on closed contests).
