We have seen some numbers and a few pictures of what Hurricane Charlie did to Florida but it's hard to understand without actually going through it. Even after Hurricane Juan last summer and its 158 km/h winds.
Buzz Bruggeman of ActiveWords (and speaker at Zap) is blogging from Orlando at various free WiFi points around the city until he regains power. Read some of his Blogging the Hurricane coming from somebody that had front row seats to the powerful 233 km/h winds.

Great to see you pointed to me! My hits have been over the top, almost 2,000 in the last 24 hours. It was really some storm But now everything is hot, humid, and miserable. The excitement wears out about the end of the second day, and then if you don't have any power, things get a little ugly.
Are they going to do Zap II?

I have a friend who was visiting her fiancés family in Florida during that. They were lucky and only had to worry about losing part of their roof....that and the fact his parents new SUV is nowhere to be found!!! It either Crashed and destroyed, or its in the Atlantic Ocean somewhere
