I'll be the first to admit that I should be the last person asked for public speaking but this week I was interview on CBC Radio by Matt Rainnie. Topic: Online Fantasy Hockey
That's enough public talking for another few years.

Congratulations Steve. The interview was fantastic. I feel it captured the basics of your project and even Matt seemed to be genuinely impressed with the scope of the site. It's too bad the audience couldn't see the site during the interview as Matt could. It's really a visual topic.
You sounded very intelligent -- an expert in your field even. I don't think it quite captured the passion you have for your work, but that may have something to do with your laid-back demeanor. Don't get me wrong; you sounded committed, just not as passionate as I know you to be.
By the way, thanks for including the 16-bit version for us country-dwellers who don't have access to high-speed Internet. The quality was surprizingly good.
It will be interesting to see if there will be any fall-out from this i.e. future publicity or site visit increases. Perhaps after a couple of days you could post your site stats if there is any significant increase.
Congrats again.
Chuck

Site traffic did not increase as I expected it wouldn't. Remembering a URL from TV, Radio, Billboard or anything else you can't take with you just doesn't work. However we did have one guy sign up to the waiting list from PEI around 5pm (10 minutes after it aired)
Site Traffic:
Nov 2nd: 250 visits (4462 pages / 15860 hits)
Nov 3rd: 296 visits (5147 pages / 18143 hits)
Nov 4th: 265 visits (4433 pages / 19649 hits)*interview
Nov 5th: 209 visits (3977 pages / 19188 hits)
I got the most response from family calling and RPHA participants.

Hello Steven,
Just listened to your interview, that you did on the radio, very impressed. You are getting to be a great speaker. Surprised to hear you actually as I have always known you to be really shy. Glad to see you are coming out of your shell. Keep up the good work, we,as part of your big family are very proud of you.
