Yesterday Poodle Hat was released in stores as some of us have been waiting somewhat impatiently, me included.
Overall, the Album is great with the expected humor of Al. If I had to think of any complaint, the only possible thing I could say is it didn't make me laugh like other releases have but that's being extremely critical. (A Complicated Song is one of the funniest)
News from WeirdAl.com is brief:
After nearly four years, the new album by "Weird Al" Yankovic is finally in stores! It's called "Poodle Hat," and was released on May 20th in North America (Europe and Australia to follow soon!) You may be able to glean more information about it elsewhere on the Internet, but in deference to our fans that don't like spoilers, all we'll say for now is that there's 12 songs on it, and uh... it's really, really good. Oh, and it's also an Enhanced CD featuring Al's Home Movies, a Photo Gallery, 8 Bonus Mixes and more!
Track Details and ordering information are here at Amazon. (amazing how there are already used copies to be sold)
Parodies included are from Eminem, Nelly, Billy Joel, Avril Levine and the BackStreet Boys and of course there is the traditional Polka mix consisting of "LAST RESORT (Papa Roach), CHOP SUEY! (System Of A Down), GET FREE (The Vines), HATE TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO (The Hives), FELL IN LOVE WITH A GIRL (The White Stripes), LAST NITE (The Strokes), DOWN WITH THE SICKNESS (Disturbed), RENEGADES OF FUNK (Rage Against The Machine), OUTSIDE (Staind), MY WAY (Limp Bizkit), BAWITDABA (Kid Rock), YOUTH OF THE NATION (P.O.D.), and THE REAL SLIM SHADY (Eminem)"
